If you live in America, or any developed country right now, you know vaccines are a hot topic.
From children being banned from public spaces, to "measles" outbreaks in Europe and the US, vaccines are in our news daily.
I know what the proponents think, especially our public health officials and doctors: vaccines save lives and without them, we are condemning children - and adults - to unnecessary illness and even death.
They are trying to save us from what they perceive is our own stupidity because they believe anyone who doesn't vaccinate their children is endangering everyone.
And this all makes perfect sense if you believe microbes are the cause of illness.
Opponents of vaccines cite study after study of how, historically, vaccines did NOT eradicate polio, diphtheria, whooping cough or tetanus. They believe these were on the decline due to better sanitation, cleaner water and improved living conditions which all occurred before vaccines were invented. Government health records appear to support this.
Opponents also cite the long list of neurological damage done by the harmful additives in vaccines such as formaldehyde, aluminum, MSG, etc. Yep, I get it; these are not substances I want to willingly inject into my body.
And I am not here to write the definitive answer to vaccines.
Actually, I take that back. I am going to do just that.
The Old Science; the Old Theories
The whole idea of vaccines is rooted in what I call the "old science:" that microbes from outside of us invade us and cause us to have symptoms that we call "being sick."
It was Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) who hypothesized this when he studied the fermentation of wine. He believed, rightly so, that the fermentation process was due to microscopic organisms (think vinegar vs wine).
In the mid-1800's, he developed the theory that heat could kill the microbes and prevent fermentation and this method is what we now call "pasteurization." It was used by unscrupulous producers of milk in the late 1800's to turn dirty milk into drinkable milk. That just gives you a happy glow, doesn't it?
After wine, he turned his attention to "infectious" diseases. Perhaps microbes were at the heart of those, as well?
Around 1865, he studied French silkworms that were being decimated by illness and isolated a microscopic organism from them.
This was all the proof he needed that microorganisms caused disease and the "germ theory" was born. That's right: it came from silkworms.
Is the "germ theory" real?
Let's fast forward to the 1980's & 90's to take into consideration the work of Dr. Hamer. He discovered that microbes, while present while a person has symptoms, are not the CAUSE of the illness like Pasteur assumed.
Instead, the microbes have a very specific purpose and are actually assisting the person to heal. In other words, it's the opposite of Pasteur's theory that microbes cause symptoms.
Dr. Hamer realized your body is more finely tuned for survival than anyone ever realized. When you have a conflict shock, physiological changes occur in your body - you grow cells or lose cells - which help you resolve that conflict.
This is what Pasteur didn't realize.
Then, when the shock is resolved, your body has to return to homeostasis so you go through a process to get back to balance. This is what we call "being sick," and this means your brain turns on the necessary microbes to go to work and assist you with cell breakdown (if you had grown cells) or cell proliferation (if you had lost cells).
Dr. Hamer mapped out the entire brain by looking at CT scans and talking with his patients. He determined the real role of microbes such as mycobacteria (Think: tubercular bacteria....Yes, *that* TB) which break down cell growths, non-mycobacteria (think: streptococcus) that help you replenish your cells, and viruses altho there is much controversy in the medical community that they actually exist.
He determined which microbes are necessary for every healing phase (illness).
The most important discovery: after looking at 40,000 brain CT scans, he realized his discoveries were true 100% of the time. This means they were 100% predictable. That every living being has the same hardwiring inside them which is not a mystery.
It certainly explains why people who do every "right" - they eat organic, exercise, meditate, have a strong social network, etc - get a "cancer" diagnosis or have a heart attack. Allopathic medicine can't explain this but due to Dr. Hamer's discoveries, it makes perfect sense.
Basically, we can't prevent conflict shocks which means even if you're doing everything right, you'll still have the predictable healing phase. Don't get discouraged here! This is actually very good and empowering news!
The important thing to remember is that Dr. Hamer discovered that every living being is programed for survival the same way: we all run the same patterns from the same shocks, we all have the microbes we turn on to assist us during the predictable healing phase.
What's my point?
My point is that vaccines are based on incorrect information about the body, the cause of symptoms, and the healing of the body.
Pasteur drew an incorrect conclusion and now we try to make a square peg fit into a round hole with an entire system of "medicine" that has developed.
How many people do you know who get the flu shot and then get the flu? I know many.....even in my own family.
The hypothesis that vaccines will prevent disease is simply bad science. And it is often wrong.
Just take a look at this article about a fully vaccinated person with the measles. Or this one about the measles in Massachusetts among vaccinated high schoolers. Or this one about heavily vaccinated sailors on a Navy ship who now have the mumps.
Current Measles "Outbreaks"
What's up with this?
Dr. Hamer discovered it is the healing phase of a "separation conflict." This means, the child was separated from someone they didn't want to be separated from and it was a distressing situation. It could also be the opposite: they wanted to separate and couldn't.
After the separation is resolved, the skin will have a rash in the areas that could not touch the person from whom they were separated.
(Be sure to read to the end......there's a great video there.)
What about all of those eradicated diseases?
Oh, you mean like smallpox, leprosy, Bubonic plaque, whooping cough, diptheria, and polio?
They are alive and well, however, they have different names and, since civilization has, in some ways, progressed, they aren't usually as severe as a conflict shock now which means their healing phases will be less severe.
Smallpox, leprosy and the Bubonic plaque were never caused by a virus. They are the healing phase of an attack conflict (think maybe the Native Americans felt attacked as a culture?) or a disfigurement conflict (how else could leprosy have "spread?" "Don't get near me! I don't want to end up looking like you!").
The healing phase of a smaller attack conflict shock is now called "melanoma" or "shingles."
Whooping cough is a territorial fear conflict for males and a scare-fright conflict for females.
Nowadays, when a person has additional triggers and thus, conflict relapses, it is diagnosed as "asthma."
Dr. Hamer discovered that "diptheria" is from two conflict shocks: a territorial fear conflict for males and a scare-fright conflict for females and an abandonment conflict (kidneys) which causes water retention and swelling making the whole healing phase more complicated.
Nowadays we'll call this program "throat cancer" or "laryngeal cancer."
Polio is very much alive and well and it was never caused by a virus. It's a conflict from feeling stuck or not being able to move.
Nowadays it's known as "MS" or "ALS" or Guillian-Barre. The intensity of the conflict shock determines which label is assigned to them from a physician.
A smaller conflict shock that keeps getting triggered is now called, "Parkinsons."
Should you vaccinate?
Vaccinates do not reduce illness, however, the placebo effect may come into play here.
The "flu" is a pretty intense stink conflict ("This is lousy! I'm fed up with this!"- this is sinus related) or a territorial fear conflict which is bronchial related.
If you are in the surroundings with someone with an intense flu, someone who is really sick, your fear of catching it may give you a conflict shock, that, when resolved, has the "flu" as the healing phase. This is predictable and known; it is not random, it is not a mystery how someone gets "the flu."
BUT, if you've had a flu shot thinking you can't possibly "catch" this illness, then you're not going to go into fear which means you won't have a healing phase. Instead, you'll pat yourself on the back for getting that flu shot.
How about this instead?
Learn German New Medicine so you understand the cause of all illnesses and symptoms and thus, armed with this knowledge, you're empowered forever to downgrade and resolve your conflicts.
This means your expected healing phases, your illnesses, would be minimal.
And if they aren't because of a huge conflict shock you experienced, you'll know to stay out of fear and to make health choices based on this new medicine. Just know your body is always taking care of you. There is nothing to catch.

I've seen people react to the knowledge of the Five Biological Laws of German New Medicine with several responses:
Many people, regardless of their initial reaction, have little (or big) lightbulbs go off in their heads when they learn the Five Biological Laws and they intuitively "know" these are true, even though their intellect hasn't quite caught up with their gut feeling.
In my view: all responses are absolutely valid and worthy, even the person who adamantly opposes any and all of it.
Because belief isn't required.
The Five Biological Laws have existed since time began without our belief and they will continue to exist when we are dead and gone whether we believe them or not. They are biological like having two feet or a digestive system.
The World Is Flat, right?
It's a little like thinking the world is flat. Imagine you believe this with all your heart.
Then you start hearing that some people question that belief and you think: What is wrong with these people? Are they crazy? Don't they know the world is flat?
And yet these other people produce more and more evidence and conduct more and more experiments that show some pretty darned convincing evidence that the world really is round. You know other people - maybe even family members - that are beginning to believe the world is round.
What do you do then?
Open Your Belief Box
You can certainly continue to believe the world is flat. If it works for you, then... it works for you. The earth won't stop being round because you don't believe it just like your body won't stop running GNM programs just because you don't believe in them.
On the other hand, you could also choose to open your "Belief Box" - the one that contains all the beliefs that create YOUR reality. Open one little door, or a window, if that feels safer, and begin to explore a new truth.
It is all about choice and in my belief system, YOU have the final say in your life. You can decide what and who to believe.
As Mr. Spock of Star Trek used to say: "Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations" - which means there are lots of thoughts and beliefs and ways of being and this abundance of differences is what makes the world go round.
A Gift from GNM
I am one of those people who intuitively knew GNM was accurate and correct when I first learned it yet I'm also a healthy skeptic so I had to test it over and over and over again. If it was true, I needed proof.
Fortunately, after working with hundreds of people, I have total and complete evidence and proof in my own mind. I would be an utter fool to not believe what I have seen with my own eyes.
One of the largest gifts I have received from the knowledge of GNM has been the elimination of fear about my body. I know the cause behind every single ache, pain, and "sickness" that I have had in my life.
Because of this, I have few aches, pains, and sicknesses because I know how to live my life in such a way so they are minimal.
How do I do this? Or: The Belief Traps
One of the most helpful beliefs I have and tools I use is that I endeavor to live in the present moment - not tied to the past or the future by fear.
Yet it seems as though most people don't live like this, especially in regards to their bodies.
Fear Wastes Energy
I've noticed that many people put a great deal of energy into trying to avoid future diseases, sometimes because of past diseases. They worry greatly about past "illnesses" resurfacing.
They'll avoid people who are "sick" thinking they might catch the sickness. They won't go out in public as frequently and if they do, they wear gloves or wash their hands after touching something, anything.
Allergic to The World
And they are sometimes "allergic" to vast parts of the world (the air, the soil, many foods, etc). They bop from doctor to doctor and from alternative practitioner to alternative practitioner spending their life savings seeking THE answer. They'll make some gains with that new practitioner they're seeing and then, unbelievably, their health backslides.
And often their world gets smaller and smaller: less food choices, fewer products in which to clean their home, fewer people with whom they will associate and fewer activities in which they will engage.
All the while they keep cleansing and detoxing thinking if they could just get this one thing OUT of their bodies: they would be fine. They often become their own victims due to their shrinking world, stuck in belief traps.
Perpetuating Belief Traps
I believe that our current medical theories such as the germ theory, the toxin theory, the malignant & metastasis theories all perpetuate belief traps and, by default, increase this phenomenon of shrinking circumstances.
And, yes, everyone comes by this fear naturally since our schools, media, advertising, and certainly what we learn from our healthcare professionals all perpetuate these traps.
But it doesn't mean we have to continue having these theories and thus, these traps in our lives. Yes, we CAN get off that perpetual hamster wheel of fear.
What GNM Can Give You
So, in my mind, it comes back to choices and it comes down to trust.
GNM gives us the knowledge to understand how our past and present conflicts affect our physical bodies. It gives us self-empowering knowledge to know ourselves, what makes us tick, what triggers us, and what to do about it, altho, because we're not brought up with GNM, we sometimes need help at figuring out the "what do I do about this?" part.
It gives us the ability to safely make different choices in how we live our lives, to break the hold the past - and future - may have on us, to decide what to use of our current medical system and what to discard.
And for many people, changing beliefs like this often entails a journey.
If we've lived with the destructive (safe) walls of allopathic beliefs all of our lives, or with the cleansing/detoxing/dairy/gluten alternative beliefs that often help for a while (until they don't), then moving beyond these destructive (safe) and/or alternative walls takes courage and conviction. For some more than others.
What is that definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, right?
Needing to find answers beyond what our allopathic and holistic, alternative practitioners can tell us is often what initiates the journey towards German New Medicine.
And truly, you have to be ready for this journey.
My Journey....My Anchor
GNM can give us the science, and yes, the irrefutable proof our minds (and psyches) often need so we can have a new Belief Box. It certainly gave me an anchor of truth to explore which I eventually, and easily, adopted.
I now have the knowledge to:
I'm sure there are other gifts I have received and will receive in the future from GNM. Since I'm always learning more, and I'm always testing it, I gain new knowledge and experience regularly.
The Foundation of NOW
It's about having a different foundation so we understand better what is happening in our bodies and thus, we can zero right in on what our bodies may need for support, if anything.
It's about living in the present, and being free from fear so we can enjoy the "now" because, truly, the present moment is all we ever have.

When I had my wellness center, I wore many hats: herbalist, nutritionist, homeopath, colon hydrotherapist, along with marketer, customer service specialist, and toilet bowl cleaner.
If you’re also a solo practitioner or in a small office, you probably also wear many hats.
The heart and soul of my practice was to offer people alternatives for reaching their wellness goals and I found myself getting certification after certification so I could gain the knowledge I needed to help more and more people.
And every certification meant time away from my center and money out of my pocket for the course and for travel expenses.
I also put a lot of time into networking by meeting with energy healers, hypnotherapists, physicians, etc. so I could refer to people I knew and trusted.
And there is a limit to all that. At least, there was for me since I still haven’t figured out how to be in two places at once. I’m working on it, tho…..
This all changed when I learned the Five Biological Laws of German New Medicine.
I no longer had to keep searching. All of the answers I needed to help my clients were now at my fingertips because I finally understood how to “read” the body, how to interpret and know without a shadow of a doubt, what exactly, was occurring in my clients and why.
Learning GNM is like getting a secret Magic Decoder Ring……that really works.
I began using GNM immediately upon learning the basics even though I didn’t fully understand them.
And still, they always pointed me to the information my client needed to understand their symptoms and what to do about them.
It was the greatest gift I could have received.
I learned to reframe all of my prior experience, education, and trainings.
Yes, I still used all of it – herbal medicine, homeopathy, cleansing/detoxing, nutrition, etc. however I learned how to use them to be more effective to get better results for my clients.
I’ve had the pleasure to witness:
To any practitioner considering learning the Five Biological Laws, I say this:

It is true: children are back to school and the weather is getting a little cooler. You know what this means, right? Fu and cold season approaches us.
Wait! WHAT? Cold and flu "season?" Seriously?
According to the CDC, flu "season" occurs from Nov - March. And not just theflu, but the common cold, stomach "bugs," sore throats, and ear infections increase at this time of year.
Is taking your vitamin C, getting enough sleep, and hand washing really going to prevent these from occurring?
The one word answer is NO and this is why.
Each of these "sicknesses" (cold, flu, stomach "bugs," sore throats and ear infections) are the healing or recovery phases from a conflict shock.
This means that something was unexpected and distressing which causes a Biological Program to begin with the sole purpose of ensuring our survival.
This conflict shock occurs regardless if you're taking vitamin C, getting enough sleep and handwashing.
So why is there an increase in these symptoms at this time of year? I have my hypotheses (I'm sure there are more) which are:
Any one of these can impact the psyche which then turns on a Biological Program that has physical symptoms in the healing phases including:If you'd like to know what the conflict shocks are for each of these, click the links above to read about each one.
Two tips on how to stay healthy this fall & winter
Some common conflict areas include:
These are suggestions to get you thinking of your potential triggers and also practical solutions.
While taking your vitamin C, getting enough sleep, and washing your hands are fine activities to do, they do not prevent an unexpected Conflict Shock with its subsequent Healing/Recovery Phase (which is what we call, 'being sick).
The number one thing to do to stay healthy is to recognize when you're upset and find a solution to it as soon as you can!

How about that summer sunburn? Today's One Minute for Wellness tip discusses the impact of sunburns. Should you be worried? Will you get skin cancer? Inquiring minds want to know....
Summer is winding down yet I still see parents slathering a high SPF sunscreen on their kids and themselves so they won't get a sunburn since, let's face it, no one likes to get sunburned. It hurts when your skin is red, hot and blistering. I get it. Really, I do.
Experts say that prolonged UV exposure increases damage by free radicals that reduce your skin's elastin so it appears leathery and has more wrinkles. Yep, I get this, too. I've known several older sun worshippers whose skin is definitely tanned and leathery.
Experts also say that sunburns or prolonged UV exposure cause skin cancer.
Hmmm....No. Not true and this is why:
Almost 40 years ago, Dr. Hamer discovered that "diseases" were meaningful, biologically based "programs" that your brain controls that are designed to support your survival. They start with an unexpected shock to your psyche which is that part of your brain, nervous system & senses that interprets the world around you.
The conflict shock that starts the cascade of events that allopathic medicine calls, "skin cancer," is actually one of four shocks:
These cells would be called "melanoma" by the allopathy.
Once we've resolved the conflicts, these cells are broken down by microbes since they are no longer needed. All in all, it's an efficient system especially when we stay out of fear and when we resolve our conflicts quickly.
Let's tie this in with the sun and this is where it gets interesting.
A sunburn - one or many - can be interpreted by your psyche to be an attack against the skin.
Ahhh, there it is: You get a sunburn, you think, "Ouch!" and maybe you add in a touch of fear, "Oh, no, I may get skin cancer" and instantly your psyche begins to protect you by adding extra cells to your skin.
Here's what this means:
The sun doesn't cause these extra cells to develop; it doesn't cause cancer.
It's our innermost and unconscious interpretation of the sunburn that grows the extra cells to protect us.
And for those with leathery skin? We know the sun free radical damage weakens the skin so when we experience any of the four conflicts listed above, the healing phase will be more complicated and could even result in death.
Once fear enters the equation the picture changes and usually spirals downhill. That's the topic for another newsletter....
For now, does sunscreen prevent skin cancer? The CDC says new cases of "skin cancer" in the US has increased from 40,777 in 1999 to 80,442 in 2015. https://gis.cdc.gov/Cancer/USCS/DataViz.html
So, no, sunscreens don't directly prevent skin cancer because they can't prevent your psyche from experiencing attacks against the skin. They CAN prevent sunburns, though. :)
Personally, I don't use chemical sunscreen. Instead, I cover up and I make sure I acclimate slowly every spring. If I haven't had time to acclimate slowly, I'll use a physical sunscreen if I can't cover up. The last time I did that was about 10 years ago.....
Here's your One Minute For Wellness Tip
CNN reports: Scientist suggests a germ-free childhood could trigger leukemia
I'm always fascinated by headlines that announce possible causes of cancer. To test the validity of the study to which the headlines refer, I translate the gist of the study into GNMese. In other words, I try to see the study from a German New Medicine perspective.
In this case, a study published in the journal Nature Reviews Cancer suggested that "acute lymphoblastic leukemia" is caused by a two-step process. This is the most common type of childhood "cancer."
Let's start with: what is "leukemia" from a GNM perspective?
It's the Healing Phase of a self-evaluation. "I feel less than..." "I'm not worthy."
In the Conflict Active phase, there is bone tissue loss that involves the bone marrow which results in:
"Lymphoblastic leukemia" involves the lymphatic system and is a milder, generalized self-devaluation. Perhaps the child can't keep up with his or her siblings or isn't doing well in school.
If the siblings can include the child with age-appropriate activities in which the child can be successful or if the child does better in school because they received extra help, then s/he would then go into the healing phase which can last for several weeks. They'll be tired which is when well-meaning parents take them to the doctor, tests are run, and a slippery slope of fear begins.
I want to point out that this is a very common Biological Program that is not to be feared! I'm aware of one couple who helped their 2 year old child successfully complete this program.
Back to our headlines.
The article said the first step in developing childhood leukemia is a genetic mutation before birth the predisposes a child to the risk of developing leukemia.
Dr. Hamer's research clearly shows that genetic changes occur with every cancer and with every "disease."
Allopathy assumes, incorrectly, it is a cause of or, in this case, leads to a predisposition for a "disease."
Let's translate this:
Biological programs (so-called "diseases") are encoded in every cell and thus are hardwired into our genetic code.
The brain relay that controls the "disease" process controls any changes in the genes as part of a meaningful, biological process to ensure our survival.
Thus, altered genes are not a cause of any "disease." Any change in them is simply part of the natural healing process.
The article then said the 2nd step occurs when children are raised in cleanerhouseholds and don't interact much with other children.
Here's how I would interpret this.
In cleaner households, I wonder if standards are higher for not only cleanliness, but performance and behavior. This might set the stage for a child feeling unworthy or like they can't measure up and thus, have a loss of self-esteem.
And valuable skills such as resiliency, trust, and how to deal with rejection are learned when children interact with other children. If they aren't interacting, they may be missing out on learning the skills that help them feel good about themselves, feel valued, and have a healthy self-esteem.
So, I believe this study has a little bit of merit....just not for the reasons they think.
From a GNM perspective, childhood leukemia is an important healing phase that can occur from any sort of self-devaluation conflict shock.
Loving our children and teaching them the necessary skills to have a healthy self-esteem are paramount, regardless of how clean the house is and how much they interact with other children.
In Health and thanks for joining me!
I am super excited to bring you this One Minute For Wellness Tip about how I recently relieved pain.
I was asked to present German New Medicine at a conference for Bionetic practitioners. These are holistically minded practitioners who use a non-cognitive biofeedback unit called a SpectraVision to gather information about your body and your issues.
Practitioners interpret the scans from many perspectives including the 5 Element Theory of Chinese Medicine and German New Medicine which is a great combo.
They had a new addition to the SV unit called the SLT - Sound Light Therapy. It looked like a blow dryer but instead of blowing heat, it emitted light and sound, which I could not hear (see pics below).
I was immediately drawn to it and had an opportunity to use it on some of my sore spots.
I have old scar tissue from various sports injuries including a calcium encrusted metatarsal on my foot from karate trauma many years ago.
More recently, my foot has received further abuse from taking ballet. (Yes, from karate to ballet.....) Being on pointe is rather brutal for.....older.... feet.
Old scar tissue and the aggravation of being on pointe has made walking without pain rather difficult. Rather than stop ballet lessons - since they are WAY too fun! - I've been doing physical therapy for the past year which has helped. The SLT took it even further.
Within an hour of finishing the SLT therapy, I could walk 100% pain-free. I had more joint mobility with my big toe - with about a 75% reduction in pain. My entire foot articulates differently when I walk now since I don't have any pain.
I had a ballet and pointe class 4 days later; I was apprehensive about even going on pointe since I didn't want to ruin my pain-free walking status.
Good news: even 2 days after pointe class, I am still walking pain-free. :)
According to German New Medicine, pain indicates either a Healing Phase or, if the pain is chronic or reocurring, it's a Hanging Healing.
If left unchecked, physical changes occur which can be permanent (think of fingers bent from arthritis, a self-devaluation of the hands). This is what happened with the calcification of my metatarsal.
Resolving the issue is paramount and supporting the bones & tissues is also beneficial. Therapies such as sound and light therapy and acupuncture relieve pain & inflammation which make you more comfortable during the Healing Phase.
I can attest that Sound and Light Therapy was effective for me. For more information on the unit I used, see below.
(And just in case you are curious: ballet is MUCH more difficult than karate!)
One Minute for Wellness Tip:
We just missed it! The American Academy of Sleep Medicine declared that Monday, March 12, 2018, was Insomnia Awareness Day.
Every night, millions of people around the world have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep.
Are you one of them?
Have you tried everything you can think of without good results??
Then consider your insomnia from a GNM perspective.
When you have difficulty falling asleep or if you wake up in the middle of the night, it generally means you were Conflict Active during the day OR you're still Conflict Active.
Being Conflict Active means that something triggered your psyche (your brain, nervous system and senses) during the day and it instantly changed your nervous system.
Often, this change is below our level of awareness yet it can disrupt sleep, even many hours later.
To determine what triggered you, consider learning more about GNM so you can figure it out and resolve it. You'll sleep sounder!
If you have difficulty falling asleep:
Think back to your day. Did something upset you? Have you been thinking about it since it occurred?
If so, then your psyche is keeping you awake so you'll have more time to resolve it.
The lesson here: be aware of when you're Conflict Active and how that can disrupt your sleep! Then learn how to downgrade the Conflict Activity.
Here's a great little chart that gives you steps you can take to downgrade being Conflict Active so you can sleep sounder. Number 10 is my favorite!
I had my 2nd foray into batching cooking today using a different menu planning website than the first time I did this a month ago. Instead of using www.20dishes.com, I used https://onceamonthmeals.com.
My goal is to cook enough at one time so I only have to cook once/month. 20dishes is great for doing a weekly prep in one hour but I wanted a service more geared towards prepping and cooking once every 4 weeks or so instead of weekly.
This meant learning yet another app which took getting used to. I LOVE the recipe builder in 20dishes; once I got used to the recipe builder in onceamonthmeals, I was okay, but it didn't feel as intuitive as 20dishes.
In 20dishes, I could visualize the whole week: the main course AND the sides for each. With onceamonthmeals, I had one menu for the entrees and a different menu for the sides. It just took getting used to.
I did, however, find the perfect use for my microwave (which came with the house when we bought it). It's a perfect "prep sheet" holder!! It's important to hang your prep sheets close to where you're working and in this case, it was right over my stovetop.
The meals I created this time were a little more complex than last time and I decided to cook more sides and larger main dishes. Over this past month, I would say a few of our meals were a little on the light side: we needed a little more food. This time: more robust menus and larger portions!
The entrees I made this time include:
The sides I made:
This definitely took me more time, however, I made a lot more food.
Overall, I spent $146.60 - NOT including the turkey!! I made 48 meals so each meal is $3.05. All of the meat was local, free-range, and pastured. About 75% of the vegetables were organic. We have enough meals so I'm thinking I won't have to cook again until mid to late January since we'll be eating out some, as well.
As far as the two apps I used: I'm going to continue with onceamonthmeals because it suits me better, however, I really loved 20dishes and their menu builder. Both services are great, however, the onceamonthmeals is less expensive per month ($27 vs $10). Both give discounts if you sign up for a year.
There you have it!! I'm definitely tired, but it was well worth the effort. I'd love to hear from you if you give batch cooking a try!!
